I can no longer pinpoint when I decided to take up embroidery, but it has not been so long. I may have been attracted by the short videos I had seen on Pinterest, and I was further seduced by Momoko's embroidery skills in the film 'Kamikaze Girls' (2004). However, when I attempted some stitches in 2023, I had clumsy hands, a skinny weak needle and four threads. No teacher, no former knowledge on the craft and only short videos to guide me. I almost cried when I failed my 15th attempt at the bullion stitch. My embroidery has greatly improved since when I threw myself into embroidery in the '-ember' months of 2024 and with each project and gift, I improved.
